Why the Labels?

As some of you may know i got in a heated argument with my friend Jade on Thursday afternoon. I was getting incredibly annoyed because she was calling me and some of my close friends "Preps". But then i thought about it and i was like, "Why am i mad? I don't even really get what a prep is." It wasn't that she was callling me a prep that was truly making me mad it was that she was labeling me and my friends so blatently as the people she hates. What makes someone a prep. the way they dress? Who they hang out with? what? Anyways it got me thinking about how stupid the teenage mind really is. We all judge people, label people even, before giving them a chance. I never really thought that there were cliques at our school but o man is there ever. Most people fall into more than one clique but everyone belongs in at least one. Except the grade sevens they dont count yet. Urgh well i kinda lost my train of thought but i will finish this later. comment please. Liz out.
