Pygmalion
As those who have read my archives know, i adore Audrey Hepburn. In fact, i'd say she is my all time favorite actress, and My Fair Lady is my all time favorite movie. My Fair Lady is based on the classic Pygmalion - which i have just spent the last hour copy, paste and printing - 5 acts, 205 pages lol. No idea why...just to stick in a duotang and read occasionally i guess. Honestly though, if the chance ever came up i would dive at this role. ( Eliza Doolittle that is of course). I love it!the accent is crazy though, for example this is one of her first lines, written phonetically - "Ow. eez ye-ooa san is e? Wal. fewd dan y' de-ooty bawmz a mather should. eed now bettarn to spawl a pore gel's flahrzn than ran awy athaht pyin. will ye-oo py me f'em?" - hope you caught that. Hope i can do it one day, that be perty darn sweet. but its a musical n i cant sing - but i am joining choir after spring break haha that'll be different. i'm doin it for my beloved croation goddess.and then if i can manage to afford it i am gonna take voice lessons next year. craaazy.
I think maybe i am just desperate to find something to do now that Steel Magnolias is nearing closing night. What am i going to do with myself?? hopefully something will come up. Well i suggest you all go buy tickets now for steel magnolias - they are available at the camrose and district senior centre - we are achieving rave reviews. its a superb show. chow. Liz out.
