And what?

ok so this is slightly creepy, but I love watching people. Like some days I go to merchants (shocker, right!?) and I sit by the window and just watch people out the window for hours, some times if I see someone really interesting I will like casually follow them and pick out the fascinating traits or body language this person carries. I really love guessing why people do what they do. Like perhaps this girl sits with her feet this way because she spent a large period of her childhood in Asia and this is the norm there..Ha like that. When I begin a new play and I am beginning to physicalize my character I like to go places where there are tons of people, its great if you can find a place where alot of "characters" go, and just watch them. I'll take my trusty notebook and when I see someone that seems like my character I will write down stuff that they do. How they stand or sit, how they talk, how they walk...All sorts of stuff. Ya so drama is pretty much what got me hooked on it, but it always entertains me no matter why I am watching people...i'm so creepy. try it one day though, you'll be hooked for life lol. chow, Liz out.

ARTSTREK!!!

artstrek membership form thingers are now available on theatrealberta.com !!! so excited, i am going again for sure, well almost for sure, actually if all works out i may find my self at 5 or 6 different acting/ directing camps this summer...i'll be a busy little muchaucho...great word. Does anyone know anything about Thornton Wilder's play Our Town?? if so leave a descriptive comment. cause that is the script that is being explored at artstrek this year...and i have absolutely no idea what it is about...still excited though. anyone interested should definately check the theatre alberta site. Liz out.

stupid, lazy, city council

no new word on the performing arts center - no surprise. the city council of camrose didnt actually promise anything - i was a fool to expect anything to happen, still i did. but absolutely no progress has been made - not an ounce of it. It is beyone frustrating. I past frustration a long time ago. Lets all manifest together and protest some wise person once said "there ain't no power like the power of the people cause the power of the people don't stop (say what??)! " ! urgh! Liz out.

...

i just found a site on this very topic i guess they made it back in october... they havn't edited it lately but i'll but it here for those who care - http://www.artscamrose.ca/news/ . nifty huh? liz out, again.

Juno Awards

I hope you all tune into the Juno awards.
I know it sounds ridiculous cause they are usually just a humiliating joke, like everything else canadian in the media. But my beloved Pamela Anderson is the host, so it should be absolutely exquisite. And is rumoured that Tommy Lee will make a performance...those two are reason enough to support the event. She'll make me proud, i'm sure. cheerio. Liz, out.

Pygmalion

As those who have read my archives know, i adore Audrey Hepburn. In fact, i'd say she is my all time favorite actress, and My Fair Lady is my all time favorite movie. My Fair Lady is based on the classic Pygmalion - which i have just spent the last hour copy, paste and printing - 5 acts, 205 pages lol. No idea why...just to stick in a duotang and read occasionally i guess. Honestly though, if the chance ever came up i would dive at this role. ( Eliza Doolittle that is of course). I love it!the accent is crazy though, for example this is one of her first lines, written phonetically - "Ow. eez ye-ooa san is e? Wal. fewd dan y' de-ooty bawmz a mather should. eed now bettarn to spawl a pore gel's flahrzn than ran awy athaht pyin. will ye-oo py me f'em?" - hope you caught that. Hope i can do it one day, that be perty darn sweet. but its a musical n i cant sing - but i am joining choir after spring break haha that'll be different. i'm doin it for my beloved croation goddess.and then if i can manage to afford it i am gonna take voice lessons next year. craaazy.

I think maybe i am just desperate to find something to do now that Steel Magnolias is nearing closing night. What am i going to do with myself?? hopefully something will come up. Well i suggest you all go buy tickets now for steel magnolias - they are available at the camrose and district senior centre - we are achieving rave reviews. its a superb show. chow. Liz out.

Ace of Base

sorry I haven't been blogging lately, I've been a lil busy. Last week, when I was searching for costumes at value village in Edmonton I bought a c.d. that I had once but lost, (surprise, surprise) - Ace of Base, The Bridge. I always adored this band when I was a youngin' and I can see why. I have totally fallen in love with them all over again, they are so painfully 90's, I love it...I can't believe I survived all these years with out them. haha and I have a few other very strange, and out of character new musical obsessions - my new favorite songs are Joleen by Dolly Parton and Testify To Love by Wynona Judd....They are both so painfully country, and I am so not like that. They are both Steel Magnolia inspired, of course - we have such an awesome soundtrack! Joleen has been redone by The White Stripes, (who I somewhat worship) but since I am going to marry Jack White one day I don't really enjoy hearing him sing about some girl stealing his man - "Joleen, Joleen, Joleen, Joleen, I'm begging of you please don't steal my man". And Dolly Parton has a very pretty voice, back when she was somewhat healthy...This is before she became skin, bones and boobs. Testify to Love is a gooder, but it is hopelessly country, actually kinda gospel...Whatever I like it anyways. well...Liz, out.
