Death by discrimination

I don't know if ya'll watch the news but if u do than you will probably already know about this horrific occurrence. Earlier this week there was a fire in an office building in the country of...I don't remember what country it was, a third world country anyways. So employees were rushing out of every exit...Some employees that is. The women that worked in this office building were not permitted to exit unless their faces were completely covered! Many ran to the doors desperately, not thinking to cover their skin. The men outside would not allow these women to exit the building. Several burned to death. When I heard this I was speechless...When I am speechless it means its a big deal, because I am very rarely speechless. Liz out.

overpriced ringtones

So this evening i spent $25 on ringtones for my cellphone...thats a fricken lot of money for ringtones!....ya so i didnt realize how much it was costing till i added it all up at the end and ya definately cost way to much. i bought 12 songs and only one of them was the "realtrax" kind, where it actually has the person singing...(beloved james blunt). so i thought that was a lil overpriced! ya i had to blog about it cause i was mildly outraged. O and i found a quote of emily hanes' (metric vocalist) and i love her, i also love the quote so i thought ya'll should hear it- "I do think we're in a recycling era, everything's so retro. People should recycle more plastic and less culture." hehe. isnt she clever. Liz, out.

...Several Hours Later...

Ok. so it is currently 3:30 am...i tried to stop myself but i couldnt resist. apparently downloading ringtones is addictinve, cause i have now spent 76 dollars on them. wow. not cool. no merchants this week. tear. i couldnt fall asleep and felt it necessary to edit this blog. now the stupid rogers wireless thing keeps sending text messages to my phone thanking me for my stupid purchases, key word stupid...god i am dumb. night. Liz, out.

The Bald Soprano

I went to see The Bald Soprano, the play at the Composite High School put on last week, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The play was written by Eugene Ionesco while he was learning the
English language. The almost inexistent storyline is incredibly bizarre and random, a.k.a. my cup of tea. lol. Jen Lindstrand directed it and did an incredible job. If last night wasn't closing, I would strongly recommend you go see it. It was fascinating, I thought about it for hours afterwards...Well obviously I am still thinking about it. At first the entire play seemed kind of meaningless...But when you dig a little deeper there is a strong message. The script subtly (And not so subtly) describes many faults in the English language, and culture. How we are all SO similar, or appear that way...And things that don't matter at all are SO important to us. If that makes sense. The play was very well cast and the entire cast did an incredible job. The characters were very unusual and would be difficult to become. I also have to commend the cast for learning all those lines, its not that there was a lot to learn, its just with a script as random as The Bald Soprano its very hard to remember which line goes where... Because your cue line rarely gives you an actual clue as to what to say. The first off-book stages I am sure were memorable. But the product was spectacular, spectacular. Chow. Liz out.
