RENT IT

Fahrenheit 9/11. Rent it, you'll understand my passionate hatred for our dear friend George W. Bush. It is appalling and despicable. I actually pity Bush a little after watching this film, it would be very difficult to run a country with such little brain capacity. He is so incredibly stupid. Anyways, watch it. Liz out.

Quote of note

" Wherever a man may happen to turn, whatever a man may undertake, he will always end up returning to the path which nature has marked out for him" - Johann Goethe (1749-1832)

I disagree completely. I think that this quote, and the whole philosophy that everyone has a chosen path, is entirely wrong. If this were the case than the decisions we are making right now wouldn't matter, because no matter what we chose we will end up the way god intended us to. So if I went out and bought some cocaine right now and became a hardcore crack addict, it wouldn't matter cause I would end up the same as I would without the crack. Than again, crack didn't exist in Goethe's day. If this were the case why would god choose some people's paths the way he does. Some people live a life of misery, is this their intended path? I think that a person's life, and the route it will take, depends immensely on the decisions they make through out. If I were to rob a bank right now and use the money to buy a taxi to the airport and fly to Chicago... I think that would change my path a little, don't you?Or even the whole "soul mates" thing, I want to believe it but I don't. I think that, though you can't find love in everyone, every one has several opportunities for love. Actually I think that there are millions of possible paths for every individual on this earth, the decisions you make in your lifetime determine what path you take. Some of these paths may lead you to love, some may not. I am kind of contradicting myself here. But all I know is I do not agree with Goethe. Chow. Liz out.

Don't ever change.

Merchants, the amazing coffee shop, my favorite place in all of camrose, was sold just a few days ago. The owners are definately keeping it a coffee shop, thank god, but the menu boards have already changed...who knows what will go next! maybe the leather furniture (knock on wood) !!! I was pretty upset i know that much. The new girl that was working there today was so impersonal, she was barely smiling and i had to say the drink three times before she understood, how complicated is- a tahitan vanilla frozen chai tea latte with a double shot of coconut - ? Will our beloved merchants ever be the same?? Time can only tell, my friends, time can only tell. Liz out.

The decision

so i have made up my mind about the whole...am i going to band camp or am i being in the play thing. I'm going to go to band camp. i may regret my decision later, but that will happen either way so meh. i am just really nervous about telling Cathie (the director of the Wizard of Oz) that i can't be in it. eek! anyways...chow! sticky situation

alrighty here is my problem - Last week i auditioned for the play The Wizard Of Oz being presented by About Time Productions. I went to the first audition, got a call back, but missed the call back audition but they still cast me as the Wicked Witch and Dorothy's understudy. The young lady playing dorothy is EXTREMELY talented but extremely busy, if she can't make alot of rehearsals than i am Dorothy! Great right? Wrong! The performance dates are the same as our band trip!! The only reason i am in band is for this trip...but i have never been in a musical, i LOVED the last experience i had with this production company and the cast seems like alot of fun. If i am in this play i am gonna be super busy and i probably won't be able to do the one act - The Diaries of Adam and Eve, that i have been really looking forward too!! ugh i am so lost and frustrated... i need to decide by two o'clock sunday...HELP ME DECIDE YA'LL. thanx. Go Liberals!!!

I'm The Green Fairy

I have developed a bizarre but delightful obsession with the small green fairy from the film "Moulin Rouge!", if you have never seen Moulin Rouge than i suggest you rent it and watch it because it is a phenominal film. The fairy part occurs near the beginning of the movie. She is only shown for approximately 2 minutes she flies off a bottle of Absinthe, her only lines are "I'm The Green Fairy" and she sings "The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music!" and then she dances around but i love it...especially the "I'm The Green Fairy!" part. I printed off several pictures of the very and now they are hanging in my closet lol its spectacular. yup.

Wow! i smell so incredibly good right now...i just had a bubble bath and used several scented Body Shop products, more than the suggested amount of course. I can't stop smelling myself, if someone was watching me they would think i was so incredibly weird. But i think i am gonna go now. chow. Liz, out.

Pam the Pornstar

I adore Pamela Anderson! She is incredibly intelligent, beautiful, a loving mother of two boys, a talented actress, generous, Canadian, an animal lover, and she was married to Tommy Lee! Everyone always says she is stupid because she plays "dumb blonde" roles, but she actually has a very high I.Q. If you read interviews with her than you will see she is very informed.
Baywatch was on for years before Pamela joined the cast, but when did the show start making money?? Oh yeah, the season Pam started!! coincidence? i think not!
Ya, she's fake. She knows it, and she is still a huge success! She actually has a pair of boots that say "FAKE" up the side!No one has been on the cover of playboy as much as her...or so i'm told, i don't actually read playboy....but if i did it would only be for her haha.
Pamela Anderson is the leader of the "Kentucky Fried Cruelty" campaign, one of Peta's most successful campaigns ever. She is a vegetarian and she is an active member of Peta.
Some people say they don't like Pamela Anderson because she uses her body to excel in her career...you would too if you had a body like that! And besides she is a porn star....she has to use her body!

Yup, i am probably Pamela Anderson's biggest fan that is a straight girl anyways. hehe Liz out.

. : Procrastinating Southern Belle : .

Hey ya'll, so here's the general news . . . So Churchmice Players are presenting Steel Magnolias and i get to play Annelle, the nervous wreck. The script is really awesome, our director is crazy-intense (which is good) and it is amazingly well cast...I am quite excited. We perform March 24th, 25th, 30th, 31st and April 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th....or something like that. its gonna be fabulous, simply fabulous. The story takes place in a, we'll say not-so-classy, beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana so we all have to talk in southern accents. So far the accents have been...well interesting to say the least. My family is definately getting annoyed of mine because i speak like a southern belle non stop. I find it rather amusing, to be quite honest. All this talk about accents even got me thinking in a southern accent.
Where do accents come from, like why do people in certain places, that speak the same language, sound so different.....its so strange, i quite like it though. It would be rather boring if everyone sounded like freaking americans / canucks...but then i wouldn't know the difference because i wouldn't have heard the other accents if they were inexistent, i suppose. Someday it will probably be that way. because of all the mass media streaming out of the U.S. more people around the world hear americans so often, I have even noticed areas in Britain that were once famous for their accents have definately toned down. I bet the french will never give up their's its to hard to do...try it! its hard.
I just remembered i have to wake up and go to school tomorrow....crud. I am really dreading this week..it will take at least a week and a half for my brain to wake up and function properly, the holidays were just too long...its seems like its been like a month since i have been in school but i don't want to go back. I planned on getting all my extra work that piled up, basically the stuff i didnt hand in, i planned on finishing it over the holidays, YA RIGHT! i've discovered my largest weakness, i procrastinate like crazy. However, i am very sleepy and i think soon my brain will literally shut down if it does not get sleep. goodnight. Liz out.

I WANT A PERFORMING ARTS CENTER!

Ok i havn't blogged about this yet, which is weird. In november, on November 14th to be exact, the camrose city council held a meeting. The 8th item on the agenda was "Does Camrose Need A Performing Arts Center?". Well the news got out, thank god, that this would be discussed and many drama/music/dance folk got rather rowled up and excited for the big day....there were even big red pins sold that read "I Want A Performing Arts Center". As the big day, or shall we say evening, grew neareryou could see more and more people sporting these large bright read pins. It was phenominal. On November 14th me and vlatka walked into the building where the meeting was being held...being the idiots that we are we went downstairs and started shouting trying to find people before realizing that the meeting was taking place upstairs. But we did manage to arrive early enough to get a seat in the meeting room. The first few events descussed were rather boring but as the meeting progressed more and more people started to show up...they only let so many in the room, there were people down the hall, down the stairs and streaming out the door...that place was packed! There were camrosians of all ages i'd say at least 300. Some of my dear friends from churchmice marched in with signs that read "The Churchmice Players Need A Home!". So the Mayor brought up the issue at hand and all the people started cheering it was amazing....and then Ina, a council meeting made a motion that the council supports the construction of a performing arts center! yay! they didn't have a choice, if they had gone against it they would have been mauled. It was so awesome though..it was like this is what democracy looks like all those people manifesting together to reach their objective! So that got me perty excited!

But than........ I talked to Ina, the city council person and she said that yes, the council had agreed to support it but that didnt mean much because they had not agreed to put an exact amount of money towards it, they had not agreed to an exact construction date...sometime in 2007 is all they said. So they didn't agree to much...but it is still some progress! Any ways.

The Glass Menagerie

So today i went to edmonton to see The Glass Menagerie a Kill Your Television production performed at the Catalyst Theatre. WOW!!! It was awesome. Very different from the catalyst theatre's usual cup of tea (the last three shows the have done all included at least one intimate homosexual scene), but still very fresh. If any of you have read The Glass Menagerie then you know the basic story though many audience members say that the play was very different from the book. Anyways...there were 4 characters - the crippled ("shhh...don't use that word!") sister, the mother, the brother that supported them, and the gentleman suiter. The mother, Amanda Wingfield (character) was played by Marianne Copithorn...and omg she was incredible...i would go to see this show just to see her...she was Crazy good! The entire cast was phenominal though! Tickets are probably still available on www.tixonthesquare.ca ...the show runs till the 20th of January and it is really worth seeing. Well to be honest it wasnt the best story, but the characters were so well done that i couldn't help but love it. This was my first time being to the Catalyst Theatre and it is so cool! It isnt the ideal big professional looking performing arts complex but its just a modern, classy, fresh space that is perfect for a theatre...but i'm sure it did not cost much to transform into a theatre...and i'm sure a space quite similar could be made in camrose while we wait for our performing arts center. Oh and weird coincidense! As i was walking through the door i was talking to my mommy and i was like "oooh i wish churchmice had a space like this..." and the girl that was working front of house (selling tickets) was like "Churchmice? you must be from camrose!"....turns out that the director of The Glass Menagerie was Kevin Sutley! Kevin is from camrose, he works in the drama department of augustana...and he also was the directing teacher at the summer theatre program i went to - Artstrek! Ao wow small world. anyways i'm done rambling now. chow. Liz, out.

So this is what our taxes go towards?

Study toasts free drinks for homeless slcoholics! At first I thought this study was a joke, a very lame and pointless joke...but then i read on and found out that it actually happened. The Canadian Medical Assosation gave alcohol, using tax payers money, to alcoholics that were unable to support themselves!!!
WHY?!?
give them a house? sure....Provide them with basic education? why not. But use our money to give them alcohol!?...don't even get me started...read it for your self -

BREITBART.COM - Study toasts free drinks for homeless alcoholics: "Free drinks may improve the health and lives of homeless alcoholics and reduce their run-ins with police, according to a study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.Seventeen chronic alcoholics who drank upwards of 46 glasses a day over the past 35 years, including cheap substitutes such as mouthwash that often led to unconsciousness, were offered a glass of wine or sherry each hour, from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm at an Ottawa shelter over five to 24 months....Three quit, three died of alcohol-related disease before the end of the study, but 11 others reported "a markedly decreased consumption of beverage and non-beverage alcohol, and most reported improved sleep, hygiene, nutrition and health," according to the authors of the study."
