Song of the week

I happen to love this band ans this song. I used to hear it everyday for like 2 weeks and i was like who is this? cause i thought it was the killers but i wasn't sure cause i can usually pick them out right away but this one is a little different from there usual cup of tea.

The Killers
All These Things That I've Done
When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
One more son
If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on
I wanna stand up, I wanna let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't
I wanna shine on in the hearts of men
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand
Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes
I need direction to perfection, no no no no
Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The cold-hearted boy I used to be
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier ...
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
You know you got to help me out
You're gonna bring yourself down
You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Over and in, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done
All these things that I've done
If you can hold on
If you can hold on
good song indeed...yap. Liz out.

Judged or not there?

No matter what you do, or how you dress someone is going to hate it. Our world is very judgemental...everyone is a critic. When you walk down a crowded hallway you are gonna get judged, even if your mouth doesn't open people will form their opinions about you. Which is bad, yes. But which would you rather be: Judged by the clothes that fully express yourself and have many people hate what you wear or who, they think, you are or dress exactly like everyone else and go unnoticed. Would you rather be judger or not there at all? If your style is very bold many people will scowl but than there are so many others that will really like it and respect you but the truth is why do it for them, do it for yourself. Dont get sucked into being a clone in our "Roxy, Billabong and Hurley" society. stand out.....This Blog was inspired by Dora's amazingly awesome outfit today and Erin Bennicke's purse so u guys are the bestest....cheerio. Liz out.

Disappointment.

I hate it when people are truly disappointed, not mad, but disappointed in me. It is the worst feeling in the world, or so I thought. But then this week something happened, someone I know from showjumping (riding horses competitively)and respect immensely(We'll call her sally but don't try to point fingers cause she lives in Edmonton and there are only a few of my friends that know her) did 2 things that I did not think she would ever do, for the first time I was truly disappointed in someone I care about. I don't know Sally that well but she is the prettiest, sweetest girl I have ever met and she is quite smart too. But then this week I found out that she did weed. I mean most other people I would be like what ever but when I found out sally had done it I was astounded, it kind of made me feel sick. I just thought that Sally knew better than that, that she wouldn't just join in the crowd because she could go so far but I guess I was wrong.

After that my respect for Sally faded a little but it was still there. Sally has been dating a boy named, we'll say Tony, for about a month now and he loves her, a lot. Everyone was sure that she loved him back but than she did something unfaithful to him. I was so shocked when I heard this. It is so sad when you see awesome girls, just like Sally, doing things that are just so stupid. Well I don't know I was perty disappointed in her. But I still love her and respect her. I am just well disappointed. If you have ever been this disappointed in one of your friends you know what it is like. Liz, out.

Opening night a week away

So as most of you know the play i have been rehearsing for for a while now is about to be performed whether we are ready for that yet i do not know. To say the least, whatever the outcome, it will be entertaining. I don't have a big part or anything but you should most definately come.

The Diary of Anne Frank
Performances- Oct. 28, 29 and November 3rd,4th and 5th
We are performing at the Legion on a very small stage, I might fall of it.
tickets are $12.50 for a normal show and $27.50 for a dinner theatre night. The tickets are being sold at the Legion, Candler Art Gallery and New Attitude Gym. It will be worth it.
So yah, I put alot of time in to this thing and you should all come and see it go live. Cheerio, Liz out.

Love.

Vlatka wrote a blog about love the other day on her web site (it was very good by the way) and it got me thinking about well....love.

Love. 4 letters. You would think it would be so simple, perhaps it is simple for some. For others the most complicated thing imaginable.
I think love is so individual that it can not possibly be described accurately by one soul, or even two souls, or 1 million souls. Some people may love more than once, some people may never truly love, possibly because they are afraid of getting hurt.
I think, personally, once you are in love ,truly, you can't stop yourself from following the journey it takes you on. You may have the perfect life, untill you fall deeply in love, than you realize it couldn't have been perfect, how could it be without seeing (or thinking about) that person every moment. Or maybe your life was a complete disaster and love made every thing fall in place. What ever the case love can not be ignored or hidden. Love can seem to be the most abstract and the most concrete thing in the universe, all in one hour. Some love at a young age. Can love die? I don't think so.
Is there someone out there for everyone? Soulmates? Again i don't believe there is...but maybe there is one for some and others are not so lucky. There is no such thing as a perfect relationship. You always have to work at it and work at it....even if you are madly in love. But all these words are just the opinions of a 14 year old girl who changes her mind quite often. Think about it. Liz out.

Poetry.

So i discovered this Awesome book that is filled with incredible poems, it has poems from over 100 poets and they are really unique. The book is actually my sister's Battle River Online English textbook but it is perty fun to read, It's called "Themes on The Journey" . Here I will turn to a random page and copy out the poem. ready, here it goes.

This is a Photograph of Me
by Margaret Atwood
It was taken some time ago.
At first it seems to be
a smeared
print: blurred lines and grey flecks
blended with the paper;
then, as you scan
it, you see in the left-hand corner
a thing that is like a branch: part of a tree
(balsam or spruce) emerging
and, to the right, halfway up
what ought to be a gentle
slope, a small frame house.
In the backround there is a lake,
and beyond that some low hills.
(The photograph was taken
the day after i drowned.
I am in the lake, in the centre
of the picture, just under the surface.
It is difficult to say where
precisely, or to say
how large or how small i am:
the effect of water
on light is distortion
but if you look long enough,
eventually
you will be able to see me.)
Pretty nifty, hey? i thought so myself. well anyways, cheerio. Liz out.

song of the week

Lamplighter's Serenade
by
Frank Sinatra

A moment after dark around the park,
an old-fashion gent comes parading,
Dressed in funny clothes
but singing as he goes,
The Lamplighter's Serenade.
The old boy loves to talk
with couples on the walk,
but when it's half after love time,
He reaches for his stick
and from his bag of tricks,
he lights every star in the sky.
And if a lady or a beau should answer No,
he sprinkles their hearts with his magic,
Then he steals away to sing another day,
The Lamplighter's Serenade.
The Lamplighter's Serenade.
I Love this song SO much. I think Frank Sinatra may be one of the greatest musicians of all time! Ya so that is that. good day. Liz out.
