Woop, woop, woop
"woop, woop, woop" the continuous sound echoed through the patio door.
"Dad what is that annoying sound?" I asked half screaming so he could hear me over the persistent noise.
"I don't know," he answered getting up to look out the door.
The speed of the "woop, woop, woop"'s was increasing.
Just as he slid the door open Stars helicopter flew slowly by. The bright search light was blinded me as it pointed in through the door.
"Why the hell is that on our land?" I hollered at my dad.
"I saw an ambulance fly down the road earlier, someone must be badly hurt if they brought in stars." He replied getting quieter as he spoke because the chopper was flying farther into the valley
"On our Land, lets go see!" I said pulling on a sweater.
so off we went following the sound of the copter. I could barely see through the heavy fog as we reached the bottom of the valley. We had to rely on the sounds of the sirens and the landing helicopter to find our way.
When we reached the scene my dad looked over and said " you'd better stay in the truck"
Well fuck that idea! I got out anyway and followed him up to the bridge where a police man was stopping traffic.
"hello sir," I said in a profound voice," What may I ask is going on?"
" Yes," my dad added, "we were just worried because this land belongs to us and we just hoped none of our neighbor's got hurt."
"Well I am afraid a young girl that was staying at Troutman's (neighbor's) lost control of her bike coming down that hill and smashed her head into a tree."The police man answered," got a nasty bruise on her head."
"Oh, was she from around here?" I asked in my usual nosy fashion.
" I'm afraid I can't disclose any more info." he replied in an important, police man voice.
So we left. That was my adventure. Liz out.
